I was an advocate of Dr. Jiao'south for such a long time. I always idea he was friendly, personable and gave our dog excellent care. Then, something changed. It seemed that he became more and more decorated and that the level of care my domestic dog was receiving was rushed and lacking.

We never really had a problem with our dog but would accept her to Dr. Jiao for annual check-ups and for boarding. I did feel the last few times nosotros went to Dr. Jiao that he seemed different, tired, stressed out and just not the same equally he used to be. Terminal year our dog started to lose hair and Jiao put her on thyroid medication and also told the states she had allergies and gave u.s.a. medicine for that. She did non seem to be getting any better and when nosotros complained to him, he told us that since she was older, more stuff was going to happen to her and to simply expect it.

At the first of this yr, her hand started haemorrhage and she had an odd looking lump on one of her toes.We took her to Dr. Jiao and he told us that he would take x-rays and do blood work. He wound upward telling us that our dog had a cancerous tumor and that he would not recommend operating on her because she would not brand it through the surgery because she was breathing so heavy and her lungs couldn't take it. He told me directly to my face up that nosotros should just "put her downward" since she was quondam anyhow. I could non believe these words were coming from him. Surely there was something he could do. He almost seemed angry that nosotros didn't desire to put her down, like we were terrible people and this was not the Dr. Jiao I had e'er known and respected. I was non ready to let her get because other than the fact that she'd lost some pilus and had this affair on her pes, she was happy, vibrant, eating and playful. How could we put her down?My hubby and I decided the best thing to do for her and to give ourselves some peace of mind was to get a 2nd opinion. We merely could non live with ourselves if we could give her a chance and didn't try.

We wound up going to some other vet where as soon every bit they saw her, they said she was such a cute dog and even with the pare condition and the tumor on her mitt, in that location was no reason to put such an otherwise healthy beast downwardly.They conducted all of their ain tests but asked that we get the records from Dr. Jiao's office. We were so embarrassed to ship them to the new vet. I felt that I was to blame for this since we should have been more than on top of Dr. Jiao all forth and not just accept the bill with the scribbled notes he gives you when it comes time to pay.

The new creature hospital was shocked at his poor record keeping and did not understand why Dr. Jiao had her on all of these medications that co-ordinate to them were making her "more sick" and not helping. They said the heavy animate was just nerves and told us that the thyroid medicine he had her on was way too potent of a dose and was making everything worse.They immediately inverse her medication and told usa that they could easily remove the tumor and they assured the states that she was healthy enough to be operated on. I am so happy to tell you that the operation was a success, our dog is tumor free and her coat is dorsum to it'south beautiful erstwhile self. She gained back weight she lost and 8 months later, she is happier and healthier than e'er before. I cannot imagine what I would take done if I let her get 8 months ago on the recommendation of Dr. Jiao. He was then willing to just requite up and hither nosotros are, 8 months later and our canis familiaris is in perfect health thank you to another animal hospital with a wonderful staff and excellent, caring doctors.
I would simply say that I don't recollect he is an awful medico but to those who he tells to put your dog to sleep, go and get a second opinion, it may work for y'all, it may not but we are so thrilled that we did. Don't just accept his discussion for everything. He is a human beingness, he is not perfect but to think nosotros could have permit him kill our dog 8 months ago and not take had this time with her just chills me to the os. Nosotros've taken her on trips and merely yesterday, she swam in the sea and was loving every second of it. Give your dog a chance, no matter what news he gives you.

In April i posted this review on City Search and feel i have to share: I Got my canis familiaris from a shelter and took her to Jiao b/c a friend goes there. y'all'd think for a 1st time visit he would take soem time to respond all my questions -which i had on a slice of newspaper...just no! once got into the exam room we were in and out in 15mins and i was given a agglomeration of medications for my domestic dog without any explanation as to how to use them or why i as given them.. later iasked some other dog walkers their opinion of Jiao...and they cringed and said he doesnt send lab work out he just gives u his educated estimate as to whats wrong...and he easily out meds similar they are going out of style! ix ppl said the aforementioned thing! i spoke to him on the phone 3x afte the visit to see if he could clarify a scrap more than. he was rushing me Once again and on the3rd phone call he told me my dog had something else that he failed to inform me of. he didnt realize he never told me he just thought he told me the 1st time.. 300 buck later and i was non satisfied. so i wen to Beverlie Animal Hospital and saw Dr Raiti..

Dr Raiti is a great caring Vet! he took fourth dimension to get know my dog on my 1st visit. he answered all questions i had and he expressed his concerns... he besides took time to socialize with my canis familiaris! I was very happy with him and volition be returning! the staff is amazing as well! I also found out the meds Jiao gave me did not take intendance of the blazon of parasites my dog has! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND WHAT A HORRIBLE VET JIAO IS

November 9 2011- here is my update

I followed up w/ my new vet for Lola's yearly shots.he had the records from Jiao & told me that not only did the shelter give her a Bordetella shot in Dec 2010 merely Jaio gave her some other one in March 2011-which i wasnt aware of! He also gave her a Lyme shot which he never told me almost.If you think Jiao is a saint, please do yourself a favor & each fourth dimension you lot get out his office ask for a copy of the records from that days visit.He only gives y'all a receipt, not an itemized list of what procedures were done so yous never actually know what he'southward doing. if he tells you he cant give them to you on the spot, stand your ground and tell him you want it At present b/c he scribbles notes in the records when the visit is over.when he tells y'all he doesnt accept the records ready it means he didnt keep rail and is going to brand something upwardly. which is what i experienced on my 1st and terminal visit to him. IT DOESNT HURT TO ASK PEOPLE.. i've had nada merely inconsistencies with this Dr. and i just want other pets to be prophylactic

I have met Dr Jiao myself and I knew someone who used to work for him. They told me that Dr. Jiao boards animals without a license to practise then and keeps the animals in inadequate weather. This man is a veterinarian only for the money.

I adopted an older dog who was in a bad state of affairs. I was referred to see Dr. Jiao by organizers of a free spay/neuter clinic where Dr. Jiao volunteered. I had been seeing a different vet office for my two other dogs for about 4 years. On our starting time visit to Dr. Jiao, I felt he was thorough and understanding; also, very professional and caring. He'southward a busy guy so it may seem that he rushes the visits, simply he is knowledgeable plenty to know what he's looking for and should be considered efficient. The second encounter I had with Dr. Jiao was when the new dog overate and seemed to be experiencing bloat. I called the emergency number and he answered after hours. He gave me fantabulous advice, and didn't scare me into rushing into the emergency hospital, equally I'm sure our other vet'south office would have done. Our follow up visit confirmed that the treatment he recommended was correct as our dog recovered very speedily without any invasive or expensive treatment. I have full confidence that Dr. Jiao has his animal patients and their families' all-time interest in heed. He is a sweet man with a keen sense of humour. All my dogs will soon be seeing Dr. Jiao. One more affair, we will be boarding our dogs during holiday so they all needed to get bordatella shots. Dr. Jiao's office charged less than one-half the price the other vet's office charges.

I first met Dr. Jaio in 2001 when my Bichon Frise was very ill. She had been treated by a vet who had been seeing her for at her first eleven years. Her original vet had been dealing with her unknown illness for at least half-dozen months. He had run all sorts of tests, but had no idea what was wrong with her. Dr. Jaio ran some tests and we had her prior exam results transferred to him. Dr. Jaio had her affliction narrowed down to two possibilities on the first visit. When the first treatment wasn't successful, he knew immediately what to practice. My Bichon started to look more than herself within days. It was unbelievable! This domestic dog had been so sick then long and suddenly so much improve! He gave that dog an extra 3 years of life. After she passed, we got two Wheaten Terriers. They have e'er gone to Dr. Jaio. Dr. Jaio has e'er answered our emergency calls in the middle of the night to help the states when these dogs were puppies and had done some deadly stupid pet tricks. (e.k., eating an entire bottle of prednisone or bitter into albuterol inhaler). Dr. Jaio was calm and reassuring and advised us exactly what to do. My Wheaties pull their fashion into his role. They seem to enjoy checking out the other dogs while waiting to come across the human being who, at once, has saved each of their lives.

Dr Jiao has to be past far the best Veterinarian that I have met.
My true cat Paulie had been blocked before (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis)
and had brought him to a local Vet, who had basically over charged me and sent my true cat habitation while he was still blocked.
The Vet just wanted me to come up with "Lots of coin" for surgery for my cat. I just felt like this was incorrect and I had no more money left to save my cat and I feared the worst. (delight keep in mind this is 2 days after christmas)
I had met Dr Jiao about a yr ago when I worked for a major pet company and remembered how passionate and loving he was to every single fauna.
I called him upward over the new years holiday weekend, without question he said it would be best for me to come in.
When Dr Jiao looked at Paulie he knew my cat needed to exist hospitalized right away.
Considering of this wonderful man my baby angel is hither with me today
Because of this wonderful man I was able to have a good new year
Considering of this wonderful homo many animals are alive and well today!

Dr. Jiao has taken intendance my 3 dogs.and 2 dogs belonging to my son and his family. To say that he is the best vet is an understatement.
I recently moved to Manhattan..The Humane Society was recommended to me for Maxie'southward care.
Maxie's starting time visit was fine. On subsequent visits Maxie was diagnosed with Giardia (an abdominal problem). Tests were taken
by at to the lowest degree 4 different vets in the space of 6 months. Each vet had the same diagnosis. GIARDIA!!! .Each of these BRILLIANT vets prescribed the same medication with basically the aforementioned results. MAXIE Still HAD the infamous GIARDIA

Dr. Jiao is the best Vet I take ever seen. He was super courteous, very knowledgable, and awesomely friendly. He answered all my questions that I had nearly the very nervus racking feel of having ii kittens. My heed feels much ameliorate.

When going to Dr. Jiao you accept to ask yourself what yous want from a vet: a sterile "professional" looking environs, or quality pet care. Yeah, his clinic is a converted house. He has first-class bedside manner, fair prices and is always accessible(cell telephone). I am given a 50% discount at my current employer and still prefer to pay full price for his services. I started going to Dr. Jiao with my starting time cat a couple of years ago, on a recommendation from my all-time friend... I will say that my start feel with him was not that cracking, he did try his best to save my cat but sadly she was as well far gone... when he called to tell me she had passed, he wasn't very warm and caring about it. That put me off, but I have to admit he knew his stuff and besides allow me work out a payment plan because I was so broke. He as well had a tech stay up all night with my cat to monitor her in case anything happened overnight, which I appreciated more than words can say.

I agree with the reviewer who said his front office staff is unprofessional, they definitely are, but I ignore them because Dr. Jiao is very professional as are his staff of vet techs. The girls at the front desk are the only drawback, he needs to hire better receptionists. The place does smell sometimes simply all beast hospitals will. The in one case I saw a dog urinate on the flooring in the reception expanse, a staff member rushed over with a mop and bucket and cleaned upwardly the mess immediately.

Every bit I've gotten to know Dr. Jiao, he has definitely warmed up his bedside fashion to my new true cat, and is friendly with me as well. His technician Ramon is also a sweetheart. All in all I recommend him 100%.

Healthcare professional to healthcare professional person:

Over the last 9 years we take brought all of our animals (dogs and cats) to Dr. Jiao and have been totally satisfied. He has come up to our house many times when we were unable to bring dying pets to the animal hospital. Dr. Jiao may be a bit over extended due to his dedication to the cities of Mount Vernon and Yonkers, merely yous accept to consider what he has to deal with. I agre that he has to ameliorate the environment of the "infirmary." He does have two "assistants" who were highly qualified vets in the Philippines and are having difficulty getting licensed here like many MDs from foreign countries. We back him 100%.

I took my true cat there, and I am and so pitiful I did. Dr. Jiao is a terrible vet and his staff is very unprofessional. He merely yessed me to expiry, didnt enquire any questions well-nigh my cat. The place is dirty, cramped and stunk of urine. I do not recommend this vet at all to anyone. A few of my friends brought there pets to him as well, which resulted in a tragic story. Ii of there pets passed away at the hands of Dr. Jiao. One was a kitten who went in for a spay and did not come out of surgery. Please do not accept your pet to this vet.

I accept had many animals over the years and many vets too only Dr. Jaio is by far the near knowledgeable vet I take ever had. He gave my canis familiaris an actress 10 months of life after she was diagnosed in the late stages of DM (degenerative myelopathy). Many other vets had seen her and not one had diagnosed her correctly. He is always available even in an emergency and he never puts money before the welfare of an animal. I strongly encourage anyone who thinks their canis familiaris may have DM to make an date with Dr. Jaio because he gave my dog a treatment that no other vet fifty-fifty new existed or suggested. Unfortunately my baby eventually passed abroad merely I have a new dog now and a couple of cats and he takes just as great intendance of them. He is extremely knowledgeable about animal medicine and has saved me money and heartache in his expert treatment of my pets on a number of occasions. Give thanks you Dr. Jaio!

Dr. Jiao took wonderful care of my Rottweiler who had cancer. I will never forget the 24-hour interval my children and I had to put Nikki to sleep. If information technology wasn't for Dr. Jiao and his staff, we would take never been able to go through the rough times. He treated Nikki as if she was his own child. His kindness will never be forgotten and its been vi years. I now accept a parakeet and Dr. Jiao has even treated him for broken feathers which kept bleeding which was caused by the pet shop clipping his wings but my bird at present flies all over the house. I first went to Dr. Jiao three years agone after trying to notice a vet who cared and knew his or her stuff. His bedside way is wonderful, he is competent, caring, has a sense of sense of humour. I'chiliad so glad he wears jeans - it shows he's not pretentious and that he relates to the animals that come to him. His advice has been the most informed and clear of any vet I've ever been to.

I've been going to Dr. Jaio since I was a kid with our childhood pets...and as an adult with my own pets, I WOULD NEVER CONSIDER TAKING THEM ANYWHERE ELSE! Yes, the facility is a house converted into a hospital (but properly converted I might add together) and yeah it's not the well-nigh posh, HOWEVER the sincere knowledge, care, devotion, time and love Dr. Jaio provides to each our pets with each visit and follow up calls, isn't this what's important, for us it is! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET(S) and want them to take the same care you provide at home And so I STRONGLY Advise the, Westchester Animal Hospital EACH-AND-EVERY-TIME; they also have a 24 hour in-house staff assuring your pet(s) are cared for in the event overnight medical intendance is required and/or you choose to board your pet(southward). I've at times had to call his emergency line later part hours and Dr. Jaio had no problems rushing to open his function to intendance for our pet(s) in need; nosotros've too brought devious animals, fifty-fifty injured birds (for a small, very small fee) the animal is then cared for until a loving habitation is constitute. Dr. Jiao is highly recommended ! He wears jeans...so who cares!.He is the kindest, most up to date, professional, courteous and CARES ! He loves animals and is the all-time Dr. God put to treat his brute angels on earth! his part is highly clean and sterile... he is growing his exercise at a rather fast step and his office/hospital is bursting at the seams due word of mouth new patients he is taking on!! God Bless Y'all Dr. Jiao!!!!! ps-the girls are ladies and are on the actress phones due the overflow of new and existing patients...he wont say no to save lives and preven affliction in our animal angels!!

My true cat Simba was near death this January from swallowing a very large amount of cord. I sent him to be put down, but Doctor Jiao said requite him a take a chance. Doc Jiao worked on Simba for 1 week. Simba is now salubrious and amend than before. He kept me updated nigh his condition everyday. He is a REMARKABLE physician. He really knows his business. My pets have been going there for years, I had to put down my dog a few years back and he came in on his 24-hour interval off to do it, the dog was in so much pain and and then weak. This is the most unprofessional animal hospital I have e'er been to! we walk in and the girls behind the desks are texting on their prison cell phones, no one says hello. The place looks unclean and very cramped. It was our first fourth dimension there since we moved and they didn't ask questions about our cat or get to know her. It was very cold and clinical feeling. The doctor was wearing jeans and a shirt and didn't bother taking a history of our cat and didn't say cheerio when he was done, simply said, Ok you lot're through, the exam was gratis just pay for the testing. The "hospital" is in a house that they turned into a hospital. Definitely a change from our professional hometown vet. When I called back for the tests, she took my number, said he'll call you and hung upwardly. I felt bad for taking my new cat hither.
